Working Hard in Music

Working Hard in Music
The Senior Choir has been working hard learning their music for the Mass Choir Festival this term. On Monday, August 8 we rehearsed for the first time with 500 other students. Well done on a sensational rehearsal!

We will be performing on Tuesday, August 30 at Winthrop Hall. We would love to see as many parents as possible there on the night. Please remember to purchase your ticket online, before they sell out!

Tickets are available to purchase from the website below:

Year One and Two
We are learning to play in parts with the song 'Little Brown Owl' using the boom whackers and the xylophones. This is quite tricky and we are doing a great job keeping in time to the beat, singing a melody and playing a melody all at the same time! Very talented!!

Year Three and Four
We are beginning to learn the ukulele and xylophones this term. We are working on coordinating our strumming in time to to the beat and getting a nice sound from the instruments. This song we are learning is called 'Funga Alafia' which is a West African song meaning: 'With my eyes I greet you. With my words I greet you. With my heart I greet you. There's nothing up my sleeve'.

Year Five and Six
We are also learning to play the ukulele and xylophones this term. We are learning the C chord and coordinating our strumming patterns. This class is playing 'Funga Alafia' in a round. Well done Zara for leading the round

Well done, Wattle Grove
